While investigating a cat sanctuary earlier this week, members of NIO Florida stumbled upon a makeshift veal-crate operatio…n run by two degenerates living in broken-down trailer on a plot of rural property in Madison, Florida. Following is all of the information that
we can publicize at this point.

The Department of Agriculture refuses to intervene because they consider these calves “trash animals.”

There are currently over 18 calves on this property with no barn and caged
with not enough room to turn around. Dairy cows that we presume to be
the parents of at least some of these babies watch their children suffer
but cannot breach the chicken-wire enclosures or offer any comfort. We
saw what appeared to be at least one dead calf. Because there are at
least five dogs running freely in the unfenced area, we could not get
close enough to take the injured calf’s pulse and, therefore, could not
determine its condition with 100% accuracy.

On injured dog ran toward us on three legs, his/her fourth leg was hanging and appeared to
be broken. A “man” came to the door when he heard the dogs barking at
the car. We pretended to be lost and asked him for directions. When we
questioned him about the dog’s leg, his chilling response was: “yeah it
got hit the other day……it will be fine… oh well.” He proceeded to call
the dogs into the house, derailing our attempts to get the dog in the
car.

We learned that this Calvin & Pamela Johnson have been cited for animal cruelty on at least four separate occasions, have been
to court many times, and animal control officers are regularly called to
this piece of dilapidated property. We learned that Judge Blair in
Madison dismissed the charges on at least one occasion. Note that one of
the days when the Johnsons faced animal cruelty charges, Pam and Calvin
also had to attend a Domestic Violence hearing for Case No. 10-160-DR.

allowed to drive and is on probation. Perhaps that is the reason for the
truck.
